The beginning stages of reading are so very important. It has been studied that children learn how to read more efficiently when grasping phonemic awareness skills. In this two week course young learners will will use their letter knowledge to move on to the next step in learning how to read; phonemic awareness. Students will learn, or improve their phonemic awareness skills in order to incorporate these skills into actual reading.
For some classes a whiteboard and marker may be used. If these items are not readily available a piece of paper and pencil will be fine.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
