Welcome to Your First Piano Lesson!
Dive into your first 20-minute piano lesson! Learn where the keys are, from the deep ones on the left to the high ones on the right. We'll explore the musical ABCs and discover how they match up with the piano keys. Find the perfect hand positions to start playing smoothly. Plus, we'll dip our toes into reading notes with easy melodies. Let's begin your musical journey! Homework: Homework: Please submit your video playing the first line and the first measure of the second line by Sunday at 10pm

Keys Unlocked: Week Two of Piano Magic!
In today's piano lesson, we'll keep building on what we've learned. We'll get familiar with the names of the lines and spaces on sheet music. And of course, we'll continue working on "Ode to Joy," making sure every note sounds just right. It's all about progress and enjoying the journey of making music! Homework: Homework this week is to upload the full first page (just right hand) of "Ode To Joy".

Lesson 3
Hands in Harmony: Mastering Both Sides of the Piano!
In today's piano class, we'll learn the left-hand part of Ode To Joy and explore the bass clef, which helps us play lower notes. We'll keep practicing "Ode to Joy" and also dive into rhythm by learning about quarter notes (1 beat each), half notes (2 beats each), and whole notes (4 beats each). Get ready for a fun and educational session where we'll make music come alive!

Music Theory Made Fun: Bonus Edition!
Bonus video! To reinforce the things we've learned so far in class, please check out this video and complete the corresponding worksheet. Homework: Watch the week 3 video below and upload the entirety of "Ode To Joy" played with both hands into the classroom. Watch the Music Reading Review video below. Optional: Complete the worksheet below! Feel free to do as few or as many notes as you like :)

Keys to Success: The Beginner's Grand Finale
In our last class of Level 1, we'll delve into the mechanics of the piano, understanding how it produces sound and the best ways to practice for improvement. We'll also explore the bass clef, mastering its role in playing lower notes. Additionally, we'll start learning the basics of a new song, setting the stage for further musical exploration and growth as you progress to Level 2.

Musical Madness - A Challenge!
Challenge Song time! Are you feeling like you need a sneak peek of level 2? Check out this short bonus lesson!
To become familiar with the layout of the piano, including the black and white keys and proper hand shape.
To understand the relationship between the different notes, and be able to recognize the sound of different intervals.
To develop basic finger coordination and playing skills, including learning finger numbers and patterns.
To introduce rhythmic notation and develop basic music reading skills.
To learn a famous classical piece, Beethoven's "Ode to Joy", and be able to play it with both hands.
To develop an appreciation for music and the role it plays in our lives, through exposure to famous composers past and present.
Homework Offered
Each week there will be a required video for them to record and send to me privately or upload in the classroom. Did your learner write a song they want to share with the class? Awesome! They're welcome to share!
