Description

Class Experience

My Goals for each student is for them to:
1. Learn to play the piano
2. Become well rounded musicians
3. Learn how to play in a group setting.

Music is often performed in ensembles, choruses, orchestras, symphonies, or bands. Student's who are already comfortable with group music sessions will excel quickly if they choose to play another instrument in a larger ensemble. The Group setting will also help each student to naturally internalize the beat and rhythm we play together during the rhythm and ear training exercises.
Home work will include practicing daily. My expectation is that each student practices the assigned songs 2x every day. These lessons build on top of each other so it is essential that the student is practicing 5-7 days a week.

Each learner needs a copy of Carol Matz lesson book Level 1A. The book can be purchased and printed here: .https://carolmatzpiano.com/product/level-1a-complete-package-with-printed-book/ Additional worksheets will be provided via email in PDF form as needed.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parental Guidance is only necessary if a student is having a hard time finding the right keys on the piano. I used blue and red gloves with labeled finger numbers to help the young students see which hand and which finger they are supposed to be using on the piano.
We will be using the Carol Matz method book that coincides with her online games. The method book can be purchased and printed here:

https://carolmatzpiano.com/product/level-1a-complete-package-with-printed-book/

Due to copyright laws, I do not provide a free PDF copy of the method book.
