In this 3-session introductory course, students will learn to play music using finger numbers, letter names and standard notation.

Class experience

Students will play music using finger numbers, letter names and standard music notation. Students will also learn how to count basic rhythms (quarter notes, half notes and whole notes) and play simple music using expression and dynamics.
I have been teaching piano for over 12 years. I have a Master's Degree in Music Education and a Bachelor's Degree of Art in Music. I am a touring musician and am currently recording my second solo album.
Students will need:
Piano Adventures LESSON BOOK Primer Level 2nd Edition (ISBN: 978-1-61677-075-4) Price: US $7.99. (Purple cover)
Students should have access to a piano or keyboard for the course. A keyboard that has at least 66 keys and allows for dynamic expression (sometimes call weighted or graded keys or touch response) is preferred.
It is helpful for students to have a phone/tablet holder or stand so I can see their hands while playing the piano.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
