Week 1: To begin the class learners will briefly review the material from Level 1, including Middle C and Open C positions. Learners will have the opportunity to play portions of songs in both positions to see where they are excelling and where they could use more practice. The focus of this class will be areas to practice in the coming weeks. Learners will be given at least one new song to practice before week 2. Week 2: Learners will briefly review the material from week 1. Then a song in Middle C position will be introduced, using both the right and the left hand. Learners will also be introduced to different finger exercises that will help increase finger dexterity. Week 3: Learners will review the material from the prior two weeks. Then a song in Open C position will be introduced, using both the right and left hand. Learners will also review reading the notes on the bass and treble clefs this week. Week 4: In the final week learners will review all of the material from the prior weeks. Then at least two new songs will be added to learners repertoire. Learners will also be introduced to the C Major scale with their right hand, so they can practice proper finger placement for scales and finger dexterity. This class is designed for beginners, who have completed Level 1. Learners should have a knowledge of Middle C and Open C positions as well as a basic understanding of notes on the bass and treble staff. If your learner has not completed Level 1, please reach out to me to see if this class would be a good fit for them.!

I'm Ms. Meredith and I live in northeastern Massachusetts. I consider myself to be a lifelong learner, and I hope to motivate others, especially young learners, to become lifelong learners as well! I aim to encourage young learners to find a passion that will inspire them to love learning and lead them to continue learning throughout their lives.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Immaculata University in Pennsylvania and a STB Theology degree from the Pontificia Universita San Tommaso D'Aquino in Rome, Italy. I have worked with learners of all ages in many different capacities for over 15 years. I have been a summer camp counselor, swim instructor, peer mentor, online ESL teacher, and I was a nanny and English language tutor for a family in Italy for three years. I currently work full-time teaching music and theology to learners of all ages.
When I am not teaching you can find me traveling or cooking! I have lived in 4 different States and also in Italy for 5 years. My travels have taken me to 49 States in the USA and 31 countries throughout North America and Europe. I would love to share my stories, experiences, and what I have learned through my travels with young learners to help them to recognize and appreciate the beauty and diversity of our country and our world.
