In this class, I would like to teach the basics of digital photography. We will learn the basics of exposure for example. The basics of exposure are including the three aspects of exposure. Also, we will learn about which digital camera is the best one to buy for specific purposes. We will learn about the basic functioning of some popular cameras to use. We will learn about some famous photographers and famous photographs in lectures. We will have some photographic assignments, such as the self-portrait. Also, other photographic assignments include taking slice of life and candid photographs. We will learn about basic photography concepts. Also, we will compare DSLR cameras with mirrorless cameras. Which one is better to choose to take photographs with? We will create our own photographic series. We will also create our own photobooks. What are photographic series? They are when photographs share a common theme in all of the photographs. I will show some of my own photographic series for an example.
Learning Goals
Students will learn the basic aspects of digital photography and create their own series of photographs based on what they are interested in.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I teach fine arts and foreign language classes. I have a BA in French from Cornell University and an MFA in Studio Arts from SFAI. I am currently teaching Mandarin Chinese, Chinese Brush Painting, and other arts classes mainly. In the future, I hope to add more topics in either foreign languages or art. For my values and philosophy, I believe in a tutoring style when teaching and using a lot of materials in my teaching. My professional background is just around two years of teaching online and helping children with their homework.
My expertise in Mandarin Chinese is that I have grown up speaking and learning Chinese, and I have near-native proficiency in Mandarin Chinese. I have also taken many college courses in Chinese language and literature, including Advanced Mandarin Chinese and Introduction to Classical Chinese.
