Beginning Phonics: Letter Recognition and Letter Sounds
In this class, learners will practice identifying letters and their sounds. We will build our phonemic awareness each class as we practice isolating the sound of our letter of the day at the beginning of familiar words. ***ESL friendly**

Description
Class Experience
Students will be able to identify letters (uppercase and lowercase) and their sounds.
I have an Associates of Arts degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Social Studies Education. I am certified to teach Social Studies in grades 6-12. Additionally, I have my TESOL certification. I have been a 12th grade teacher, a 10th grade teacher, and most recently a Lead Teacher in a pre-school where I exclusively worked with 3, 4, and 5 year olds. I taught at the pre-school for three years with a focus on fostering the development of early literacy and math skills. I've been a teacher on Outschool since the Summer of 2020. During that time I've continuously taught my Sight Word Swing Level 1 and 2 classes, my Writer's Workshop class, and done private tutoring.
Learners will need paper and something to write with or a whiteboard and a dry erase marker to practice writing their letters during class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
