Beginner Level
Crochet is a great stress-relieving hobby that turns yarn or thread into a fabric or textile & gives you something finished you can display or wear & be proud of! This beginner level class will introduce the basics of crochet. Learners will be expected to purchase supplies & tools that they will use to complete class samples & projects. This is a SELF PACED class - which means there are NO LIVE CLASSES. Instructional videos will be posted for your learner to watch and crochet along to, as well as optional classroom discussion. Students will be expected to also post photos of the work they have completed. The more your learner participates the more value they will get from this class! NOTE: Learners should have the dexterity to use a crochet hook & yarn without assistance. There is also counting involved. Please see the attached Syllabus for details on each Lesson. I want this to be a fun activity, & encourage my students to ask questions and share both their successes and struggles so we can all support each other & learn from one another. Learners will be expected to purchase yarn & a crochet hook before the start of the first class. * your yarn should be what is called "worsted weight" and should be a solid light or bright color (black is especially not recommended as it is hard to learn on); acrylic yarn tends to be best to learn on * crochet hook should be 5mm or US size H/8 * sharp scissors for cutting the yarn * a blunt yarn, tapestry or darning needle
Learning Goals
Learners will learn beginner crochet skills & techniques each week while following along to step-by-step guided video lessons.
