This guitar class is for complete beginners. We start out going over guitar fundamentals (names of the guitar parts), playing techniques, music fundamentals and finally beginning with chords. Chords are essential to all guitar playing regardless of style. Students will learn everything they need to know to get started playing the guitar quickly, including basic music theory and suggested practice routines.
Ms. LoPrete has a B.A. in Music Performance, Classical Guitar, M.A. in Music Education, M.A. in Music Business. She has taught students of all ages both individually and in a class setting for over 30 years. She has owned her own private teaching studio and has experience teaching in public school
Practice of at least 30 minutes a day is required for maximum benefit.
Assessments are informal based on their demonstration of each concept the following week.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 4+ hours per week outside of class.
Students will need a guitar of their own and a tuner.
