1-2 hours per week. In order to get the most rewarding experience from the class, learners are expected to practice about 20 minutes a day throughout the duration of the 4 weeks.Assessment
Although this is a FLEX class with no live meetings, students are encouraged to reach out with any questions or even share videos of themselves playing directly to me, the instructor for feedback throughout the class!Class Experience
In this class, younger students will have a chance to learn the basics of guitar. The class will cover parts of the guitar, correct position while playing, music theory concepts such as rhythm and note values, and treble clef note reading on the first 3 strings of the guitar. With their knowledge of these notes, learners will be able to play 3 songs ("Spanish Theme," "Ode to Joy," and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"). Additionally, they will learn beginning forms of 2 commonly used guitar chords, C and G and learn how to strum along with a basic song.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to play the notes on the first 3 strings of the guitar. They will learn modified and/or full forms of the chords C, G, and D. By the end of the course, students will have learned 3 songs, "Spanish Theme," "Ode to Joy," and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."
