Have a teen who wants to play guitar? Have a teen who likes to make up songs? Not sure which instrument to try? Introduction to Guitar for Teens is a great introduction to guitar playing. In this class students will be introduced to the basics of playing guitar over six weeks of classes. We will cover many topics including how to tune the guitar, proper care or the instrument, correct hand position, playing by ear, chords and scales. Students will also learn melodies and chords to popular songs. Students will learn to play a song that we will work on weekly, at the end of the course students should be able to successfully play the song. Basic music theory will be discussed and students can apply this to any of their music studies. Students will be able to interact with me and ask questions during each class session. Students need to have an acoustic or electric guitar for this course and a guitar pick. No experience is needed for this class, just come prepared to learn guitar and have fun! *Class will be cancelled if minimum enrollment is not met

Hello I'm Mr. Daniel and I teach music to kids! I teach voice, guitar, and piano in group and private lessons. I've been teaching for over ten years in music schools, colleges, and for my own music school. I began taking piano lessons when I five years old and fell in love with music. I then added violin, guitar, and singing. I began performing professionally in an Irish band when I was in high school. I then went to the University of Southern California and earned my BA in Music/Jazz Guitar. Since college I have been performing professionally all over Southern California as a lead guitarist and vocalist. I write and produce original music as well. I have also performed in theme park shows at SeaWorld and Legoland and in several musicals including Jesus Christ Superstar and Sweet Charity. I have owned my own music school for five years teaching piano, voice, and guitar as well as coaching students for auditions.
I believe in teaching students according to their learning style and goals. I enjoy teaching students who want to perfect their music skills as well as those wanting an introduction to music.
I am married and have two daughters. We love to dance and sing together! Another fun fact about me is that I have been a professional Christmas caroler for years now and love the holiday season!
