Class Experience

Week 1: This week will begin with a review of the chords and notes learned in Beginning Guitar 1 & 2. Learners will play a selection of songs from Level 1 & 2 and we will evaluate what skills need more practice and what skills learners are excelling in. Learners will be given 1 or 2 more songs this week to continue practicing at home.

Week 2: After a quick review of the previous material, learners will continue learning chords that use 2 or more fingers. This week one new chord will be taught. We will learn two more songs so that learners can practice between classes.

Week 3: We will review the material from the prior two weeks. Then we will learn how to play single notes on two more strings, learning two songs to help learners to practice and strengthen their finger dexterity. Learners will now know individual notes on all 6 strings.

Week 4: We will finish our four weeks reviewing all of the material from the prior weeks focusing on smooth transitions between chords. Learners will also learn another song to add to their repertoire to be able to practice on their own.

This class is designed for beginners who have taken the Beginning Guitar Level 1 & 2 classes. If learners have not completed these classes please reach out to me to see if this class is a good fit for your learner. This class is designed to have fun while learning something new. Learners will play musical games and add to the repertoire for songs to practice at home!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Ciao ciao!
I'm Ms. Meredith and I live in northeastern Massachusetts. I consider myself to be a lifelong learner, and I hope to motivate others, especially young learners, to become lifelong learners as well! I aim to encourage young learners to find a passion that will inspire them to love learning and lead them to continue learning throughout their lives.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Immaculata University in Pennsylvania and a STB Theology degree from the Pontificia Universita San Tommaso D'Aquino in Rome, Italy. I have worked with learners of all ages in many different capacities for over 15 years. I have been a summer camp counselor, swim instructor, peer mentor, online ESL teacher, and I was a nanny and English language tutor for a family in Italy for three years. I currently work full-time teaching music and theology to learners of all ages.
When I am not teaching you can find me traveling or cooking! I have lived in 4 different States and also in Italy for 5 years. My travels have taken me to 49 States in the USA and 31 countries throughout North America and Europe. I would love to share my stories, experiences, and what I have learned through my travels with young learners to help them to recognize and appreciate the beauty and diversity of our country and our world.
I hope to inspire your learner to discover their own individual passions and fall in love with learning, so join me in the classroom for a discovery mission and begin the journey to lifelong learning!
