Class Experience

In each class a new theme will be explored.
For the first class, we will talk about German-speaking countries and some common things we enjoy that originated. We will learn how to greet people, say our names, and ask how the other is doing. We will learn the phrases, "I am" and "I'm called," (My name is...).
In the second class, we will learn about family. We will learn the names of various relations. We will learn the phrase, "I have" and to count to three.
In the third class, we will learn about colors. We will learn the names of colors and identify the colors of various objects. We will learn to talk about our favorite colors and describe various objects and their colors as beautiful, ugly, etc.
In the fourth class, we will learn about shapes and sizes. We will learn to describe objects and also compare objects. We'll learn the phrase, "There is...," and we'll learn to count to five.
In the fifth class, we will learn about our homes. We'll learn to describe the types of homes people live in, the rooms of a home, and some objects in the home. We'll use what we've learned thus far to make sentences using "I have," "There is," colors, shapes, sizes, etc.
In the sixth class, we will learn about foods. We will talk about meals and our favorite foods during those meals. We will also learn about mealtimes in Germany. We'll learn how to describe foods and how to count to ten.
In the seventh class, we will learn feelings. We will learn to describe how we feel as well as how someone else feels, reviewing pronouns and "I am".
In the eighth class, we will learn about transportation. We'll learn how to say we go somewhere by.... and what we would use to go to various places (walk to the supermarket, ride a bike to the library, take a bus to school, fly to Germany, etc.).
In the ninth class, we will learn the days of the week. We will revisit the daily activities and talk about things we do on specific days. We will describe what people often do on certain days.
In the tenth class, we will learn about things we do for fun. We will learn ways to describe hobbies and sports.
In the eleventh class, we will learn about clothes. We will combine what we learned in the previous classes with hobbies and daily activities to describe the clothes we would wear for those activities.
In the twelfth class, we will learn about seasons and weather. We will talk about what the weather is like on certain days and in certain seasons where they live.
In the thirteenth class, we will learn about holidays. We'll talk about various traditions, activities, clothes, foods, etc. We will learn about Oktoberfest in Germany.
In the fourteenth class, we will learn more about holidays and related vocabulary and expressions. We will use what we've learned to create a variety of sentences.
