Class experience
In this engaging, ongoing class, students will receive an introduction to the French language and francophone culture. Each class will have a culture component in addition to speaking, reading, and writing in the target language. As the class builds and students learn to speak, read, and write in the target language, the teacher will send exercises for the students to read/complete in between the class meetings. Students will speak in French. Students will learn how to describe themselves in French. Students will learn how to ask about others in French. Students will learn about 10 French-speaking countries of the world.
I am a licensed French teacher grades preK-12 and I would love to meet your student in my class! I have over 10 years teaching experience in-person and over 3 years teaching experience online with students ages 4-14. I have lived for a year in Aix-en-Provence, France where I taught ESL in a private school. I have also traveled to Quebec, Canada 2 times with my middle school students. In the classroom for over 10 years, I have been required to teach about over 20 francophone countries as a requirement of the Virginia Standards of Learning for French. In addition, my classes always follow the National Foreign Language Association’s 5 C’s of language learning, which includes culture. In this course, students will learn about 10 different francophone countries. They will learn where they are on a map, why they speak French, and how French in used in their country.
Homework Offered
There will be small review activities for students to complete and either review or share to the class the following week.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
The teacher will listen to the student's pronunciation and address any sounds that need to be practiced/corrected as a whole to the class.Grades Offered
