Description
Class Experience
Students will learn the first half of Song Book 2. New notes - C, E, F, D; eighth note combinations; short pieces in 4/4 and 3/4. Students have access to recorded accompaniments online and can use those during their week to make the piece more interesting.
After we review the pieces in class, it would be idea if the student worked on all those pieces during the week and also reviewed older pieces. It can take multiple times playing through a piece to get the idea of how to play it. Since students in this class are still young, I would recommend that the student practice between 10 and 15 minutes per day (Monday through Friday)
Song Book 2 - Sarah Broughton Stalbow (Amazon) Fife - please check with your local music store or on Amazon. Music stand - not required but recommended.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Informal assessment - I usually leave notes on the student's page and reiterate what they need to practice for the week. I also encourage them with specific comments about their progress. I want students to progress and have an idea about what they are working on and how they are improving.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
