*This class meets once a week for 6 weeks or 2x a week for three weeks to help meet the needs of all learner's schedules. Earth is amazing! In this class, young learners will learn all about our planet Earth. What is on the Earth's surface? How does the land on Earth change? What are Earth's resources? This class will help to answer those questions and more! In this class, I will teach very important science vocabulary that correlates with different aspects of Earth's Resources. Each lesson will be taught using lots of pictures and discussion to help children have a better understanding of what is being taught. Each class will build on each other to help young learners fully understand all about Earth, the resources that we use from it, and how we can protect those natural resources. Activities will be done in each class. I will provide all handouts needed before each class begins. Day 1- What does Earth's surface look like? + drawing activity Day 2- Rocks & Soil + Rocks/minerals sharing & drawing activity Day 3- The Changing Land (erosion & weathering) + drawing activity Day 4- Earth's Resources + sorting activity Day 5- Using Earth's Resources + sorting activity Day 6- Saving Earth's Resources + sorting activity + Review all that was learned about Earth's resources Key Vocabulary: continent, mineral, weathering, erosion, deposition, pollution, reuse, reduce, recycle, natural resource, conserve Supporting Vocabulary: river, mountain, valley, plains, rock, soil * Please check in the "classroom" section before each class to ensure that you have all the supplies/materials needed for each class session. *Time may be adjusted for classes with a smaller number of students. *Sibling discount available upon request*
Learning Goals
Students will be able to identify what Earth's surface looks like as well as understand how water, ice and wind can change the shape of rocks and land. Students will also be able to identify Earth's resources, how they are used and how we can help protect those resources.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Nevada Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
I was a 1st grade teacher for many years. I currently hold a BA in elementary education with a minor in history. I love teaching all subjects but most of all, I love teaching young learners about the world around them. I have a great love for science, history, nature and the great outdoors. My parents were both educators and instilled in me at a young age the love for learning, teaching and appreciating nature. I love sharing these same principles with others! It is very important to me that young learners know all about Earth, its resources and how to help conserve those resources.
