Earth's most unique landforms are amazing! In each class session we will explore, discuss and draw some of the most unique landforms on Earth. Classes will be taught through discussion and using many pictures (through a PowerPoint). I will teach the name, definition and location of each specific landform that is being taught about. I will also teach about the geography, geology, history and some wildlife of each of these most unusual landforms. Students will be given the opportunity to ask questions and express their thoughts throughout the lesson. At the end of each lesson learners will be given the opportunity to share what they learned and what they found interesting about these landforms. Students only need an interest in nature, geology and/or geography to enjoy this class. No homework is required for this course. Learners will be encouraged to draw and/or write about each landform that is being taught about. We will be focusing on 9 different unique landforms in each class session (27 total). Some landforms that will be taught about include Turnip Rock, The Chocolate Hills, The Great Blue Hole, and many more. Drawing and/or writing about each landform will help to enhance learners' knowledge of the unique landforms that they are learning about but is not required. *Handouts will be provided for students to use during class but are not required. Teacher expertise and credentials
Nevada Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
I was an elementary school teacher for over 17 years. I have a BA in elementary education with a minor in history. I love teaching all subjects but most of all, I love teaching young learners about the world around them. I have a great love for history, nature and the great outdoors. My parents were both educators and instilled in me at a young age the love for learning, teaching and appreciating nature. I love sharing these same principles with others!
