Has your child wanted to learn how to write in cursive? If so, this class will start them on that path. In this multi-day beginning cursive writing class, students will learn American standard cursive writing including lower case letter and word formation. No prior knowledge is necessary, however learners should have adequate small motor coordination so the minimum learner age should not be lower than the set recommendation. Older learners, however, are welcome to join. Students will practice cursive in a methodical way, learning letters of similar formation at approximately the same time. Learners will be able to formulate words by the second lesson. We will begin with the letter “t” followed by “e” and “i.” Cursive writing has been shown to improve focus as well as motor skills and is a somewhat lost art among students today. Although we live in a digital age, handwriting is still essential for daily activities. Look for the next multi-day course in which learners will be introduced to upper case letters.
Learning Goals
Students will be introduced to lower case American standard cursive writing and learn to form letters and words.
