Do you have a student interested in learning to crochet? In this class, we will start from the basics and learn how to create the chain stitch. This is the foundation of any future crochet projects. No prior knowledge of crochet required! We will talk about how to hold our yarn and hook, including a few different methods. Then we will learn the chain stitch, the most important stitch to know. I will demonstrate the steps several times, and then pause to let students try it, while giving individual help and feedback. While we work during any downtime where I am not explaining or helping, students will be free to chat and get to know each other! I will lead conversation if needed, but students will be able to take turns sharing their favorite things, hobbys, etc. My teaching style is very encouraging, and I focus on the process rather than “getting it right.” No one’s chain stitch looks perfect after the first class, and I want to make sure students know that’s okay.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, my name is Jordan, and I love teaching the French language! I've been working with kids for 5 years through tutoring and babysitting. I believe in making classes fun, engaging, and informative while promoting learning based on each individual's needs.
I have been studying the Frenchlanguage for 9 years now, from French 1 - French 5 as well as 4 years of immersion French classes. I am conversationally fluent and at a B2 level. I have tutored French immersion from May 2020 through August 2020 when the French immersion school near us closed for quarantine, and I've been teaching French online for three years.
I also continue to take French lessons with native speakers, and I am working towards my Bachelors in French, which includes classes in advanced French immersion, French literature, and French education. I attended a 7-week summer French immersion camp through Middlebury College.
I also have my certification in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language), the principles from which I apply to my French classes.
I'm excited to meet you and your learner and help them reach their potential!
