Experience the joy and beauty of classical ballet! This class is appropriate for new dancers who are ready for their first structured ballet class.
Class experience
This class introduces the grace and beauty of ballet, and is structured for beginning to intermediate dancers. This class will include a warm-up and ballet technique, both at the "barre" and in the center. Class structure: - Introduction and welcome - Ballet "Barre" Warm-up Exercises - Stretches - Ballet Technique, both in the center and "across the floor" Barre warm-up includes, but is not limited to: Plié, Tendu, Rond de Jambe (en de dans), Soussus, and Grand Battement. The dancers will learn basic ballet technique, with attention to both the artistry of the art form and the joy of self-expression.
All our instructors are industry professionals, with years of experience teaching children of all ages. Each instructor has their own style, but all are passionate individuals who love their art, and are adept creating a positive learning experience, and a personal connection with each and every child.

Preferred materials: Ballet Shoes, but children may participate with bare feet or slip-proof socks to accommodate for "less-than-ideal" flooring at home. Please wear a leotard and tights or other athletic attire, with hair pulled back from the face. Dancers should have a ballet "barre," which could be a chair, counter, or other stable object to assist with balance. POINTE SHOES ARE NOT PERMITTED AT THIS LEVEL.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
To ensure safety, children should be supervised by a parent or guardian during dance class, and please make find a slip-proof area to dance. If dance shoes are not worn, bare feet are preferable over socks. Dancers should have something to hold onto for a "barre." This should be lower than shoulder height, and can be a chair, counter top, etc.
