Class Experience

US Grade 5 - 8
Beginner Level
This class is designed for older (middle school) students that are new to Spanish or that may have taken previous semesters of Spanish and are looking to continue their language development at a beginner/intermediate level.

I use a storytelling method that allows learners to learn a new set of words and conjugations each week.

It is taught by an experienced, certified teacher each class.

This class will cover basic vocabulary, composing short sentences, short stories and answering questions as well as conjugations of common verbs, reading and writing in Spanish. Therefore, students in this class should be comfortable with reading and writing in their first language.

Be sure to check out the class syllabus below if you are joining for the first time.

Vocabulary cards or lists are often provided, as well as optional homework assignments, worksheets or Nearpod practice activities.

I utilize a variety of research based techniques and differentiated methods such as TPR, TPRS, translations or word banks provided on the screen, visuals, actions, drawing, reading, writing and games. All classes are designed for new learners to join at any time so you can join a course late. I use Spanish as much as possible while also clarifying with English. I use a storytelling method that allows learners to begin thinking in Spanish from day one.

Homework is optional and provided after class and can be submitted for feedback.
