Students will be shown an example of the game and will discuss how they think it has been constructed. Class1: Students will be shown how to use the template to transfer the design onto their board. I will demonstrate how to measure, mark and cut the wood to the desired lengths (given on the template). Students will then cut their wood to length. *There will be a choice of designs for the students to choose from. Class 2: students will learn how to prepare wood before they apply a finish. Students will sand their parts before we assemble the game using glue. After class students may like to apply a finish to the game. But this will have to be when the glue sets, normally after 2-4 hours.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to safely and accurately use hand tools to make a fun game.
