This is an intro class to learn how to play ukulele. We will go over how to tune a ukulele, ukulele strings, basic chords, strumming patterns, and we will even learn a song or two! I will show the students the patterns and they will have a chance to play. I will also have them play along with me and a chance to play by themselves. The students will be able to have discussion and ask questions. No experience required!
Learning Goals
To gain basic ukulele skills and jumpstart their ability to play.

Florida Teaching Certificate in Science
Hello! My name is Courtney, I am a certified 6-12 Science teacher in the state of Florida. I have a Bachelor's degree in Biology from SUNY Geneseo and have 5+ of both virtual and classroom teaching experience. I teach middle school life science as well as robotics using VEX V5.
My teaching style is discussion based. I believe that communication in the classroom is important in order to understand the needs of each of my students.
Through my experience in the classroom, I realize that many students learn at their own paces and in their own ways. This is why I try to include many different modalities to learning such as visual, auditory, and kinesthetic.
Outside of the classroom, I also love music, art, and animals. If you join my class you may meet my pet cat/co-teacher named Mama!
