Beginners Spanish Immersion - A Waldorf-Inspired Class
In this beginners Spanish class children experience Spanish as a living language. Our Spanish Waldorf teacher brings Spanish to the children through verse, song, art, finger plays and other activities involving rhythm.

In this Waldorf Spanish class the children are introduced to simple vocabulary, like colors, greetings, parts of the body, animals, days of the week and numbers to name a few. Students are taught in a Spanish immersion environment (90% Spanish) through developmentally appropriate activities with lots of opportunity for meaningful communication. Regina has three years of experience as a preschool teacher. She was introduced to the Waldorf philosophy when she was hired on as the lower school Spanish teacher at Monterey Bay Charter School, a Waldorf inspired school in Pacific Grove, CA. After four wonderful years of teaching at Monterey Bay Charter School, Regina was offered the position of high school Spanish teacher at Highland Hall Waldorf School (Los Angeles, Ca) in 2013-2018. During her time at Highland Hall, Regina served as the High School Sponsor for the Class of 2018 as well as the Student Council liaison for two years. Regina also worked at Pasadena Waldorf School (Altadena, Ca) for one year. During her time at this magnificent school, she taught Spanish, History and she also served as a cosponsor for the class of 2022. Regina then transitioned to teach at Chaminade College Preparatory (West Hills, Ca) for 2 years. During her time at CCP she taught Spanish levels 1-3.
This is a list of materials that we use in class. We will provide a materials list before the end of each week for the following week: A notebook for art or white paper in a folder Scissors Glue Crayons (block) Stick crayons Tissue paper (different colors) Finger paint / watercolor paint Paint brushes Paper plates Craft sticks Pom poms Play dough Occasionally we will be using toilet paper roll. Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 45 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
