Description
Class Experience
Students will cast on and bind off stitches. Students will learn about the garter stitch. Students will learn how yarn weight and needle size affect the outcome of a knitting project. Students will read a basic knitting pattern for a scarf.
I have been knitting various projects such as hats, blankets, scarves, and pillows for over 10 years. It is a favorite past-time of mine, so I would love to share my skills with others!
The sizes I list here are just suggestions because they work best for beginners handling knitting materials for the first time. If you already have crafting yarn in your house, feel free to use this! Size 7 (4.5 mm) or 8 (5 mm) straight knitting needles - $5 Medium worsted weight yarn; a lighter color yarn makes it easier to see the knit stitches - $4-$10 per skein
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
