Dungeons and Dragons (DnD) is a very complicated game, and especially to new players, they can feel overwhelmed. This class is meant to help guide a new player in the right direction to playing DnD. Now, every player or group has their own style of playing DnD, but the first steps of each campaign are usually the same. Over four weeks, learners will have time to write their own characters while learning the basic rules to DnD, and at the end they will use their character in a short combat...
Students will learn how to play DnD, as well as learn how to release their creative side and make a brand new character.
I have been playing Dungeons and Dragons for about four years now, and I have been a dungeon master for three long campaigns with my group. I understand the important aspects of character creation and role playing as a character as well.
I will supply the students with a semi-detailed list of character types and character races that are used and seen in Dungeons and Dragons. This list is not a replacement for the official players handbook, it just gives some information on that kind of character if the students are still unsure of DnD. The official players handbook can be found at nearly any game store or book store and usually go for around 50 USD. I will supply virtual dice if needed. A basic set of table top dice can be found for 3-5 USD.
