Intermediate Level
German Level 102 (12-17 years) - For students who completed German Level 101 or have the same proficiency This course is of limited class size and meant for students who successfully completed my German Level 101 course or have the same proficiency in understanding basic concepts in German.* The curriculum is designed for scholars who wish to study the German language more in depths and attain advanced communication and writing skills. The course content is more intense in learning material, entails a greater teacher to student engagement and allows for a more focused learning experience for each scholar attending class than level 1. However it is still as much fun and engaging as my level 1 course! Due to the small class size your student will gain increased experience in speaking German and practicing grammatical concepts. We will work on your student's pronunciation to ensure a good foundation. Continued focus of this class will be language immersion and natural comprehension to grow confident communication. Level 2 course students will begin to grasp important grammatical concepts in German, such as gender/nouns, capitalization rules, definite and indefinite articles, and conjugation of verbs. We will also continue to build the student’s vocabulary and nurture and advance individual communication skills to reach high German level. At the end of the course students will have gained confidence in expressing themselves in German clearly and confidently. Your student should also be able to write short essays/poems and give short presentations on topics of their interest confidently. Topics include: Geography and culture Weekdays and expressing activities / weekly schedules Repetition of past concepts Travel Traditional German rhymes Things around the House *If your student has not completed Level 1 with me please contact me to schedule an assessment to ensure your student is placed in a class he/she feels comfortable.
