What's included
6 live meetings
4 hrs 30 mins in-class hoursHomework
1 hour per week. I will set small tasks for students to do in their own time. These tasks will help them to confidently ask and answer questions in French, so that they can get to know French peers and ask for food and drink in a French speaking country.Grading
I will give verbal feedback during the classes and brief written feedback after each class.Class Experience
I will do an audit of students' experience of learning French in the first class. I will also check what they really want to be able to say in French and will try to incorporate it into this course. Students will be learning the basic conversations people have in French - finding out each others' names, age, where they are from etc. Students will also learn how to ask for food, drinks and other essential items in French. All students will have the opportunity to speak in class. I encourage questions round the class, so that students ask, as well as answer, questions. I will speak as much French as possible in class, though some explanations will be given in English. We will play age appropriate games in class to help learning.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to have a conversation with a person of a similar age. They will learn how to ask and answer questions.
Students will learn the names of key places in a typical French town.
