Beginners Cursive for Teens (13-18)

This class is for beginning cursive writers. Each week will focus on a separate set of beginning with the lowercase letter, since they are used most frequently, following with its uppercase partner. We then move on to the uppercase alphabet. We will practice writing our name in cursive, as well. The letters are learned out of alphabetical order and instead are taught by ease of writing, so all learners are able to start out with success and low frustration. 

I follow the Demo, Guide, Do approach to teaching cursive and will begin by demonstrating how to write the letter. Then, I will guide the learners through the steps as we write it together. Finally, the learners will write it on their own. I will also model the correct sequence of steps frequently throughout the class. Since the ability to connect letters correctly is one of the hallmarks of cursive handwriting, we will practice connecting our highlighted letter to others so that we form simple words and sentences.
