This is a beginners' level acting class, designed for students that have dreams of acting professionally. In this short, 4 week class, students will learn the basics of developing authentic characters by studying emotions & motivations. Students will be required to prepare short performances in advance of class, and should also be ready for spontaneous improv, as required. This particular class is best suited for students who are not afraid to perform in front of others. The basic structure (which may be modified, as needed): There will be a lecture / discussion part of each class, a break, then a performance / feedback part. A little about me: I opened my own small business to train students in performance arts in 2005, teaching child artists with zero experience how to create pro-quality performances. Student credits include Tony Honors, Grammy nomination, lead roles on Broadway / in film, national television appearances, and more.
Learning Goals
I will be training students to develop authentic characters by investigating emotions & motivations. Each class will have a basic goal, but each class will also be run in an open enough format to allow for structural and content adjustments as the students' individual needs become apparent to me.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I am excited to invite you to participate in one of my online learning adventures. To me, creative learning is a fun, lifelong event, and I love to learn as much from my students as they learn from me. What do I teach and what are my typical results..? I specialize in early reading & early math (ages 4 to 6), performance arts (pro-focused singing & acting lessons for all ages), psychology theory instruction, parenting (child behavioral help, socio-emotional development), and much more. Across the board, my long-term students are able to advance beyond their original expectations, some even advancing to extreme heights of success. Example: In performance arts, 40% of the students that have trained with me for more than 2 years earned "star" status with lead roles on Broadway, national television exposure, etc. One earned Tony Honors & a Grammy nomination by age 11, and starred in a national release film by age 15. 80% of that student group actually had enviable opportunities in the industry, too! Those are some phenomenal numbers right? So, did everyone just come in with excellent talent to begin with? Nope. Here's the truth: If you put in the hard work it takes to succeed, and you find an excellent coach that can help you build your "success toolset," then you can achieve many, most, or even all of your dreams, including the wildest ones, as some of my students proved. So, sign up for one of my classes. See how much you learn, and see how much fun a challenging learning environment can provide.
