Class Experience
Learners will learn simple yoga techniques such as deep breathing, connecting body to breath and performing yoga poses. Learns will also learn the Sanskrit name of yoga poses used in class.
I am a registered yoga teacher (200 hour) as well as a child-development specialist. I have over 15 years of experience as an educator and have been teaching yoga in my community for over a year now.
There will not be required homework but learners will be encouraged to practice poses on their own
Yoga mat is optional (a towel or blanket can be used in place of one, but again, is not required) Water bottle is optional
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
The yoga we will be doing will be in a standing position, seated position, hands and knees or in a laying down position and will be very low impact. Moves will include twisting, back-bending, forward folding and side stretching. No previous experience or special skills are required. A variety of modifications will be discussed for each pose to make sure they are accessible to all learners. Learners need space to fully lie down or sit-up.
