This class is for all my learners that LOVE to create and want to try new mediums or improve their skills in these particular mediums. If your learner is ready to learn about art mediums and techniques that can improve their painting skills this is the class for them! Learners who have some experience with these mediums but want a more solid foundation to their art skills will also benefit greatly from this class. This is not for the learners that want to create crafts. We will be going over foundational art techniques that can open their skills to a more serious artistic path. My classes all have a camera that show what I'm painting or the art supplies I'm using. Learners are not expected to copy me exactly when they are creating their projects. Each learner will have their own painting style that I want to honor and strengthen! How much will learners get to interact with you and each other? Part of this class will the social aspect of being in the company of other creative individuals. If learners want to engage with each other it is welcomed. I just ask that they remain respectful of each other, not give out private or sensitive information! If learners don't want to have cameras on they can turn their camera on briefly and say hello at the start of class. Then they can turn their camera on, but they will be expected to engage in the chat (if they wish they can use emojis/reactions provided by zoom). I'm happy to have the chat feature available for all learners! *Also helpful but not required is for learners to point the camera at the work they are doing if they wish. This helps me see where they are trouble spots and I can help guide them. Again this is NOT mandatory or necessary but I do appreciate it when avaible.* 🧸 Siblings are welcome! However, you know their dynamic best. If needed please provide them with separate computers and learning space otherwise they can share one computer! You will need to pay for each child, once they are paid for they will each be enrolled in the class. Here's more info from outschool: https://support.outschool.com/en/articles/2186663-enrolling-multiple-learners-in-the-same-class What will each day look like? Day 1: All about the materials- In this class I will go over all the materials! I will explain the differences between student and professional grade. Learners won't need to have exactly the same materials that I have. I do however want them to be informed so when they are ready to upgrade their supplies they will have the information to make their next purchase. I'm hoping give learners information that can help them with cost effectiveness and lessen the FOMO (fear of missing out) about certain brands or mediums. Learners come with your questions about anything art supply related! *If time permits we can also talk about other supplies not related to this class such as pastels, inks, oil, etc * Day 2: All about color mixing and composition! We will go over how to mix colors and find our own color palette style. Then we will learn about composition. Day 3: All about watercolor! We will explore the world of watercolor. We will go from learning watercolor techniques to creating a fun project using a loose style. Day 4: All about acrylic! Learners will explore the world of acrylic. We will then complete a project using our acrylics.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Master's Degree in Education from CSU
Greetings, learners and families!
I'm teacher Nazaret (pronounced nah-sah-reht), and I'm thrilled to be a part of the Outschool community. I officially joined Outschool in 2022, in the late fall of 2022 I embarked on my journey as a dedicated Outschool educator. Although my journey with Outschool is relatively fresh, my experience in teaching extends far beyond this platform.
With a rich educational background, I hold a BA degree in Psychology and an MA in Education-Counseling. My teaching experience encompasses a diverse range of learners, spanning from the littlest learners all the way to adult learners. My expertise lies not only in imparting essential life skills like career exploration, time management, and personal responsibility, but also in nurturing creativity through captivating mediums like painting and art journaling.
I'm more than an educator; I'm an artist with a vibrant creative journey. My passion flows through mixed media, acrylic, watercolor, and oil painting. Nature is my muse, and I often find myself wandering through arboretums, capturing its beauty through my lens. This love for photography finds its way into my artwork, enriching the creative tapestry that defines my style.
You can explore my artistic creations not only in the form of original pieces but also across an array of products like prints and stickers.
My creative exploration isn't confined to my personal pursuits. I extend my artistic wisdom to the realm of education, offering adult watercolor courses to both individuals and corporate groups. This holistic approach to teaching enables me to instill artistic skills while fostering personal growth and expression.
I'm not only fluent in both English (US) and Spanish (Mexico), but I'm also bicultural, embracing the unique nuances of each language and culture.
My teaching philosophy resonates with my own journey as a learner. Each learner carries a treasure trove of knowledge, and together, we uncover the gems within. I believe in nurturing confidence, particularly among introverted learners. I understand the challenge of stepping into the spotlight, and I'm committed to creating a comfortable space where learners can grow at their own pace. Whether it's camera breaks, voice alternatives, or personalized instruction, I collaborate closely with parents and learners to ensure a supportive and effective learning environment.
What do I aspire for my learners to gain from my classes? Three core pillars:
1. **Knowledge**: Bridging gaps, strengthening understanding, and embracing new knowledge.
2. **Confidence**: Empowering learners to believe in their abilities and fostering growth through self-assurance.
3. **Support**: Fostering a sense of co-creation and collaboration, making each learner an essential part of the educational journey.
