In this beginner violin class, students will learn the following:
Day 1 - How to hold the violin & bow
- Rest position & playing position
-Making a good sound right from the start!
- Names of strings: E A D G
Day 2 - Rhythms on the different strings
- Review of how to hold violin & bow
Day 3 - Finger placement - Please purchase violin finger tapes through amazon or similar (link provided in supply list)
- Review of rhythms
- Beginning songs & music notation
Day 4 - Songs & music notation will be continued
Day 5 - Hot Cross Buns
Exact songs to be covered will depend on the individual group. The above calendar is meant as a guideline; the pace of this class will be adjusted as necessary.
Learners MUST have an appropriate-sized violin, bow & shoulder rest to take this class. Please message me for guidance on obtaining an instrument or with any other questions you have.Other Details
Supply List
Learners MUST have an appropriate size violin and bow, as well as rosin for the bow, and finger tapes for the violin. A shoulder rest is strongly recommended. Please message with any questions about supplies.
