Class experience
Students will learn the basics of playing the cello such as bow hold, instrument position, tone, posture, and performance. By the end of the course Students will be able to perform rhythmic variations of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star and will have the necessary groundwork to continue learning beyond class. I have been teaching violin for 25 years and performing on stage since I was 3 years old. Everything I teach is out of experience and are the building blocks for my own technique as a concert violinist. I picked up viola and cello as my second and third instruments because I love learning new things! I am patient and have experience with students with special needs.
A playable cello with bow.*** For Cello - A rock stop or strap may be needed if you have hardwood floors. Art tapes (for marking the finger position on the viola) A tuner or tuning app (I like Pro Guitar Tuner Lite available in App store or Play store) ***If you would like assistance buying or renting an instrument, feel free to email me. It is imperative that students have an instrument that will not interfere with their ability to learn. Cheap instruments sold on Amazon can often be difficult to play and will required additional funds to set them up. Renting is always the best option when you are unsure of instrument quality. If you must purchase and want to spend as little as possible, I recommend Shar music online.
