Students in 1st-3rd grade will complete challenges that will allow them to become more comfortable with the keyboard and its functions all the while increasing their typing speed and accuracy.

Description

Class Experience

Students will learn 10-finger touch-typing while having fun! During each live meeting, students will learn the location of the keys on the keyboard as well as proper hand placement and finger reach. They will then be challenged to complete a typing task or puzzle.

Between meetings, students are encouraged to log on to Typing Club and practice what they learned during class. They can earn badges for time practiced outside of class.

This class is taught in English.

- Students will use the proper fingering technique to type on a computer keyboard. 
- Students will increase their typing speed while maintaining or improving their overall accuracy

Students are encouraged to log into Typing Club between meetings and practice their typing for greater confidence and improvement. They will earn badges for their practice time. 

Recommended amount of practice time: 10 minutes per day

  1 file available upon enrollment- A desktop or laptop computer with a full keyboard. (number pad is not necessary) Tablet computers are not recommended but can be used if they have a full-size keyboard.

- colored pencils, crayons or markers (9 colors)
