Homework
1-2 hours per week. Multiple-choice and free-response questions will be given to confirm the proper comprehension of the material. I will check their answers in the following class.Assessment
Student knowledge will be assessed through problem set assignments, tests, and exams. Exams are modeled that include multiple-choice and free-response questions (AP chemistry level).Class Experience
US Grade 9 - 12
Beginner - Advanced Level
Any chemitry concepts requested by learner will be covered in this tutorial class including Advanced Chemistry (AP Chemistry) practice and mock exams. The chemistry topics can be anything from entry level to AP Chemistry. This tutorial class is open format for any topics the learner requested. Their questions can be answered and I will provide practice questions, or mock exams. This class can be taken concomitant with my AP chemistry group classes if any leaner from my AP course needs additional help. In this private tutoring session, we will cover any chemistry topics from the High School to college level Chemistry that the learner requested. The topics can include scientific notation, significant figures, unit conversion method, atoms and their electron configuration, ions, molecules, periodic table, intermolecular or intramolecular forces, Lewis dot structures, VSEPR theory, moles, molarity, molality, stoichiometry, different chemical reactions, stoichiometry. Let me know what your needs are and I will prepare a lesson plan for those topics. The class involves a short presentation on the topic and then a learner works on practice problems. I will give assignment and will check your answers. Learners can also request last minute help for their upcoming chemistry exam. I will present the information requested and I will give explicit guide to the students with direct instruction. Also, provide hints to the steps needed to solve the problems. In addition I may provide 'Flipped Classroom Model' that has proven to be among the most effective online teaching methods and strategies. In this model, learners have studied the lesson prior to the class or have previous knowledge and the sessions are used for doubt resolution, problem-solving. You need to consider that practice is the key element for success for any exam including the AP exam.
Learning Goals
Get the answer to you questions on any specific topics. Last minute questions before any exam are welcome.
Learner's request, for any chmeistry related topics or practice problem solving will be covered.
