In this ongoing class, students will learn a NEW dance combination every single class! From Golden Age musicals to modern Broadway hits, there is truly something for everyone. A strong focus is on "acting the dance" and having fun!
Class Experience
In this class, students will be introduced to the fundamentals of theater dance! This class will cover basic dance positions and steps most often found in theater dance combinations. We will do a physical warm up, zero-in on specific steps, and then apply them to a short combination. The goal is to build physical strength and agility, learn steps commonly found in theatre dance, and develop memorization skills. Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parental supervision is recommended as this is a highly physical class. Class will include stretching, a cardio warm up, and highly physical choreography. Please ensure your learner has a clear space for dancing free of trip and slip hazards. Learners are encouraged to take breaks at any time as they need them, (no need to ask) and to *know their own limitations*. Questions are always encouraged at any time! Please have water handy, wear comfortable clothing, and closed toe shoes.
