This is the next step up from Intro to Tap Dance. If you have no experience with dance, it's probably best to take the intro class first. If you have any experience with dance classes, by all means jump right in! Tap dance is a great way for those who are not dramatic to improve upon their internal sense of rhythm and build confidence. A place to move around and shoes they are allowed to stomp their feet in that can bend in the middle. Sneakers work just fine. Crocs, sandals and shoes with heels don't work so well.
