Homework
1 hour per week. There is no mandatory homework, but I recommend that your learner practice the personalized list of words and sentences that they will receive after class. Learners will also get a Quizlet flashcard sheet of the class objectives in both digital and printable form.

Class Experience

In this 1:1 Spanish class, your learner will review, learn, and practice basic Spanish conversational skills related to describing themselves and their interests, including: introducing themselves, their age, birthday, hobbies, and other related topics. Throughout the lesson, your learner will be encouraged to both ask and answer questions about these topics in complete sentences using correct grammar and pronunciation.

This private class includes:
- A notes sheet with common Spanish phrases
- Ample Spanish speaking practice with the opportunity to learn how to give personalized answers
- Brief written feedback after class and a Quizlet flashcard sheet of the class objectives in both digital and printable form

Required Prior Knowledge: This class is most appropriate for students who have minimal knowledge of Spanish words and sentences (generally about 1-2 years of experience) and who need more speaking practice.

If your learner has no prior Spanish knowledge, this class will serve as an opportunity for him or her to review expressions he or she may have picked up naturally and learn some introductory words and phrases.

NOTE: This class is not a full immersion Spanish class and there will be some English used in class as needed. However, I regularly strive for at least 75% target language instruction or more depending on the student's level and individual needs.

My teaching style is to carefully and patiently encourage verbal output from the student throughout class, while adapting to the learner's comfort level and trying out different teaching methods to see which method(s) your student is more receptive to.

I will use a Google Slides presentation, props, and movement to help your learner understand the content in different ways.

Learners will also be exposed to some simple Spanish commands to offer additional language input that they are not expected to say out loud.
Learning Goals
Students will review, learn, and practice: introducing themselves, their age, birthday, hobbies, and other related topics. Depending on the learner's prior knowledge of Spanish, I will adapt the class so that they are both reviewing and learning some new material.
