This class will be 100% Spanish immersion. I want to encourage students to think and speak in Spanish — I believe an immersion environment is best for language learning. We'll read "De la cabeza a los pies" (“From Head to Toes” -- be ready to MOVE with the animals! This is a great book for little ones because each animal has a special movement. We will sing hello, practice body parts with a song, read and move with the animals, and think of our own animal movements. This class will be playful, engaging, and active! We will practice saying the animal names once more with a game before class is over.
Learning Goals
Students will practice some animal names in Spanish. If you'd like to practice before class, these are the animals in the book: el pingüino, la jirafa, el búfalo, el mono, la foca, el gorila, el cocodrilo, el gato, el camello, el burro, el elefante, el loro, el flamenco.
Students will also talk about body parts in Spanish. These are the body parts in the book: la cabeza, el cuello, los hombros, los brazos, las manos, el pecho, la espalda, las caderas, las rodillas, las piernas, los pies, el dedo gordo del pie.
