1-2 hours per week. This course is a self-paced class which means students can learn at their own pace. Each week after watching the video(s) and completing the worksheet(s) students are encouraged to take a picture of their work and post it in the classroom. Students are also highly encouraged to record a video of them repeating the vocabulary words and phrases from the week or presenting their worksheet(s). Student work can be posted on the classroom page or sent in a private message so that the teacher can provide feedback and guidance on pronunciation as needed.Grading
The teacher will watch student videos in order to provide feedback. The teacher will also review images of student worksheets and offer encouraging comments and guidance as needed.Class Experience
Beginner Level
Hola! 🌟 Who is this class for? 1) This class is designed for beginner Spanish students who want to learn in a flexible way through videos instead of live meetings. 2) Students with little to no previous exposure to the Spanish language are welcome! 3) Students who want to learn Spanish and have fun! 4) Families with busy schedules! Students can learn at their own pace. Watch the videos and complete the activities when you have time during the week. This course does not have any live meetings. ********* 🌟Each lesson topic includes the following... 1) 1-3 videos introducing the new theme and introducing activities. *Video lengths vary from 5-25 minutes long. 2) 1-3 worksheets or activities that reinforce what was learned in the video. While no activities are mandatory they are all highly encouraged! 3) A set of printable flashcards to reinforce new vocabulary and phrases for each of the 6 lessons. Color and black and white copies are available. 4) A family guide for adults that are supporting their children during class. This guide will include the English translations of new vocabulary and phrases so that you can easily support your child even if you do not speak Spanish! 5) This course can be completed in 6 weeks-View the syllabus for more details on the 6 lesson topics. ********* 🌟 Teacher & Student interaction: After watching the video(s) and completing the worksheet(s) for each of the 6 topics students are encouraged to take a picture of their work and post it in the classroom. Students are also highly encouraged to record a video of them repeating the vocabulary words and phrases or present their worksheet(s). These student videos can be posted publicly in the classroom or sent in a private message to the teacher so that they can provide feedback and guidance on pronunciation as needed. Students can expect teacher feedback within a 48- 72 hour period Monday-Friday. ********* IMPORTANT: Class videos, resources and materials are not full immersion. There will be some English to clarify language concepts. The guidance sheet for adults will have English translations so that families can easily support their children during class.

🌟 Topic 3- The Weather
Students go on virtual fieldtrips to ask "how is the weather- ¿cómo es el clima? and respond with "hace frio- it is cold", "hace calor-it is hot", "está nublado-it is cloudy", está soleado-it is sunny", está lloviendo-it is rainy". 2 assignments

🌟 Topic 4- Food Part 1
Students learn to talk about their favorite fruit (fruta) including fresas (strawberries), naranjas (oranges), manzanas (apples), and platanos (plantains/bananas). Students complete drawing games and interviews with family and friends to practice! 2 assignments

Parental Guidance
A family guide and checklist is provided for each lesson. The guide includes English translations of new vocabulary and phrases so that adults can easily support their child even if they do not speak Spanish! Assignments include clear instructions, examples and answer keys so that families can support their children during class. If you still have questions you can always contact the teacher!
The main introduction video is posted to each weekly post. Additional activity videos are embedded in the post or assignment page of the classroom. If you have any trouble accessing the videos send us a message so we can help!
