¡Hola amigos! 👋 🌎 📚 🌟

My name is Maestra Ellie Skinner, creator of Spark Spanish Learning. At the heart of the Spark program lies a belief in the transformative power of early language learning. For elementary students, learning Spanish is more than just acquiring a new skill—it's an adventure that opens doors to new cultures, perspectives, and opportunities. My approach to teaching Spanish is designed to be engaging, interactive, and tailored to the developmental needs of young learners.

My Philosophy:

✴️ Engagement Through Play and Creativity: Children learn best when they are having fun. My lessons incorporate games, video clips, visuals, and interactive activities that make learning Spanish an enjoyable experience. By integrating playful elements and creative projects, students remain excited and motivated to explore the language.

✴️ Building Confidence Through Positive Reinforcement: Young learners thrive in environments where they feel supported and encouraged. I focus on positive reinforcement to build confidence. Each child's progress is celebrated, and their efforts are recognized, fostering a love for learning and a positive attitude towards language acquisition.

✴️ Cultural Appreciation and Real-World Relevance: Exposure to different cultures enriches the language learning process. Students are introduced to various aspects of Spanish-speaking cultures. The vocabulary and sentence structure presented is useful for real world conversations. This helps children understand the practical uses of the language and enhances their global awareness.

✴️ Developing Lifelong Language Skills: My goal is not only to teach Spanish but to instill a lifelong love for language learning. By providing a strong foundation in Spanish, students are equipped with skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. Early exposure to a second language has been shown to enhance cognitive abilities, improve problem-solving skills, and open up future academic and career opportunities.

The Spark program is designed to be a dynamic and enriching experience. I believe that learning Spanish at a young age is a valuable investment in a child's future. By fostering a supportive, engaging, and culturally relevant environment, I aim to inspire a passion for language learning that will last a lifetime. Expand your child's worldview and give them the gift of language. Aprendamos juntos-Let's learn together!

Meet the Teacher: 🌟 Maestra Ellie
I have had the privilege of teaching Spanish on the Outschool platform for the last four years. I hold bachelor's degrees in Spanish and Business Administration and am a certified ELE (Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language) and TESOL teacher. During my time living abroad in Costa Rica, I completed advanced Spanish grammar, composition, and literature coursework. I taught high school Spanish I, II, and III prior to staying home and raising my own children. I have experience instructing at various levels ranging from Pre-K to Spanish III. The past few years, I have been in a brick and mortar classroom, working specifically with neurodiverse and special needs students, as well as interpreting for my local school district. In my classroom, we begin interacting in the target language right away, gradually increasing the student's confidence through listening, speaking, reading, and writing exercises. I feel honored to share my passion and love for the Spanish language with your student! Nos vemos.
