Class Experience

Beginner Level
In this class, we will create stitched-up gashes, peeling skin, giant warts and various other wounds on our hands, arms (and face if the student wishes to). There is no need to go purchase any costly special effects products. There is a safe (edible even) recipe for fake blood. A recipe for homemade Scar Wax (prosthetic wax) will be provided as well.

We will work step by step to create our skin effects. After students learn the initial technique, they may customize their wounds however they wish. This will be the same for each lesson and different technique. Creativity and Technique go hand in hand.

Students will get messy, so they should dress appropriately for possible staining.

I am a professional Face and Body Painter, and Halloween makeup is my favorite to paint. If students are interested in going further with their work, I will answer any questions they have regarding more professional products and understanding hygiene in makeup application.

This class is creating horror/gore prosthetics....please do not sign up if your child is sensitive to that subject.

Younger siblings may get frightened. While this may be fun for the student, usually not so much for the sibling. I felt it needed a warning, from experience.

Learning Goals

Students will learn the techniques to start their Special Effects make up journey, and be able to easily adapt to situations where professional products are unavailable.

Parental Guidance
This class is creating horror/gore prosthetics....please do not sign up if your child is sensitive to that subject. Students will use tweezers to pick apart the tissue after it's glued on their hand or arm. They should know tweezer safety prior to taking the class. Please patch test any ingredients the student will be using. Check for any known allergens. If using on the face, please go over product safety and keep away from eyes. Younger siblings may get frightened. While this may be fun for the student, usually not so much for the sibling. I felt it needed a warning, from experience.
