Beginner Reading Skills 1-on-1 Tutoring
This is a 1-on-1 tutoring style beginner reading skills class that will help learner learn the skills to read a beginner level 1 book by the end. It’s a 12-week tutoring class that meets weekly for 30 minutes.

Class Experience
Identify letters, sounds, words, rhyming word endings Improving writing skills Look at picture to help figure out a word Gain confidence in sounding out letters to form words and words to form sentences Be able to read a beginner level 1 book on your own
Types of things to work on as homework during the week: Assigned workbook pages Sounding out letters Rhyming words Printout activities Reading practice in the book we are currently practicing 15 minutes of reading with adult daily (before bed, in afternoon, whenever you can fit it into your daily routine)
Workbook to use in class and for homework: Learn to read sight words storybook by Kimberly Ann kiedrowski (8.99 on Amazon) Books we will use to start reading: Splat the cat I scream for ice cream by rob scotton (4.99 on Amazon) Clark the shark too many treats by Bruce hale (4.99 on Amazon) The fat cat sat on a mat by Nurit karlin (4.74 on Amazon) Printouts for activities and books will be available to print (keep them in a folder or binder for the week each will be used) Basic school supplies like paper/notebook, something to write with OR white board, markers, eraser
