This course is comprised of three units: letters/sound recognition, sight word vocabulary, and word families. Students do need to be able to identify all the letters of the alphabet and identify most of their sounds.These skills will be taught in this order and for each unit a lot of time is devoted towards teaching and reviewing these skills. The specific sight word list (1-30) is from the Dolch list and they will be explicitly taught. These lists will be posted on the weekly classroom page....
