Beginner Level
You've learned the alphabet, short CVC words, and sight words. This class helps you put it all together. It's time to practice your reading skills. This Reading Camp for students who are beginner readers. Students who enroll should be comfortable identifying letter names, letter sounds, many of the cvc word families (bat, cat, mat, etc.), and have been introduced to common sight words}. In this reading camp, we will: 1. Read paragraphs and stories using books on Kindle and on-screen. Each child be asked to read sentences aloud. 2. Answer reading comprehension questions about the story that was read. 3. Review and define words from the story. 4. Practice beginning sounds, ending sounds , and rhyming words with various activities that include completing words with the correct letters. 5. Identifying author, illustrator, topic, lesson presented in the story. work on completing words with the correct letters Each story is likely to introduce your learner to new words, build their confidence speaking out loud in front of peers, and engage them in sharing their own thoughts about what they have read. Join this Reading Camp if you are ready to read with friends in a positive atmosphere. I use themed PowerPoint Slides and short passages from books. IF YOU COMPLETE ONE SESSION, SIGNING UP AGAIN WILL LIKELY BE REVIEW WITH DIFFERENT READING SELECTIONS, BASED ON THE READING LEVELS OF THE GROUP.

I'm Tiffany. I encourage students to read for enjoyment and to get into the practice of challenging themselves to explore topics they enjoy through literature so that learning is well-rounded, relevant, and fun.
I have experience teaching in the USA through AmeriCorps and teaching English abroad in Europe {Prague}. Also, I spent several years working professionally as a chemist (toxicology, food science, molecular biology, analytical chemistry labs) before leaving my job to become a home educator and digital creator.
