In this course we will focus on book one of The Suzuki Method. Students will learn to listen to what they play and eventually be able to play notes without the aid of sheet music.
Class experience
Beginner Piano for learners ages 7-12 Learn to play by ear! Meets once per week. Piano or keyboard required. Parents participation recommended but not mandatory. Students will learn the different notes of the keyboard and their corresponding fingers starting at C position.
Dr. Lai is one of the few experts who teaches the Suzuki Method of Piano in North America. He was classically trained at the University of Western Ontario in Canada and Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio, however later discovered that the Suzuki method produces better results in a much shorter amount of time. He believes that learning music should be enjoyable versus tedious.
