1 hour per week. Homework will include individually reviewing scales, chords and songs learned in class each week and practicing them. This should take about 15 minutes a day.Class Experience
Learn the basics of playing piano in any genre in just 1 month! In 4 weekly lessons, I will show you: - A few healthy habits for playing the piano (safety first! you don't want strain injuries) - ALL of the white keys - Treble and Bass Clef - Reading the staff (the lines and spaces from: Bass G to Treble A) - Rhythm values (beats) - A simple scale: C Major - Your first chords: C Major, G Major and A minor, as well as how to create songs with them! - Lead sheets versus sheet music - and even how to play 4 beginner songs from sheet music (paper with notes on it)! This class will be held on "Zoom" and include live instruction from yours truly! It will also include some time in class for you to try new techniques, as well as a few informative slides/videos, emailed directly to your inbox for memory jogging. The best part is, all you need is a keyboard/piano and a "Zoom" capable computer. No prior lessons or knowledge required!! This course is a great primer for beginners or review for those who have had a lesson or two, before advancing to weekly lessons. Week 1: Learning the Keys and the Staff Week 2: Learning Rhythm Values and Scales Week 3: Learning Chords and Lead Sheets Week 4: Putting it all together!
