Beginner Piano Group
This class is for students ages 7 and 8 years of age who have no previous experience. Alfred Prep Course Lesson A and Theory A. I will be teaching the student beginner level music theory, work on songs, dynamics, and rhythm.

Class time will be spread out between sight reading skills, music theory concepts, learning songs, and techniques. We start out learning the musical alphabet. We learn to recognize the rhythmic value of Quarter Notes, Half Notes, and Whole Notes. We learn to count the beats and time signatures. We learn how to play a song in rhythm. I teach the class sight reading skills which how to play a song without having ever seen it before. Sightreading reinforces skills we are learning over the week. Learning to play a song and applying rhythm, dynamics, and phrasing. Music theory skills are taught throughout the lesson. The theory book allows for reinforcement of the concepts learned in class. C scale is taught. Please let me know in advance of class if student will be missing class.
