Class Experience
Welcome to Beginner Piano for Part 1! This is the first class in a series that will be build upon what was previously learned and is geared towards students who are between 13 and 18 years old. This class is for complete beginners, so no musical experience is necessary. I'll cover everything you need to know! In this class we will be covering basic rhythm (quarter notes, half notes, and whole notes), hand positioning, finger numbers, the musical alphabet, piano key identification, and...
Song Homework: Students will have 4-6 short songs each week and will be expected to upload videos of themselves playing the songs by Sunday morning of each week. Theory: Students will be give 3-4 Theory worksheets to accompany what they learned in class. These will need to be photographed and turned in by Sunday morning of each week.
Students will need a piano/keyboard, the ability to print PDFs of songs and worksheets, pencils, and possibly crayons or colored pencils for theory assignments.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
